Update 7 — Cobalt Tier & Armory Bench

The current major patch raises the material ceiling to cobalt: new deep-layer ore, Armory Bench armor line, and workbench upgrade rebalancing.

Update 7 is the current major version on live servers. Its headline change is the cobalt material tier: cobalt ore now spawns in deep layers, smelts into ingots at the Furnace, and feeds new tools, weapons, and armor.

Material progression

  • Copper stays the entry metal — surface deposits, Furnace smelting.
  • Iron remains the mid-game backbone and gates the Anvil and Armory Bench.
  • Cobalt requires an iron pickaxe and tops out the current gear curve.

Stations

  • Armory Bench added as the armor-crafting station (built at the Anvil).
  • Workbench upgrade order is now: Workbench → Furnace → Anvil → Armory Bench.
